As a columnist, you will be writing articles, Instagram posts, and/or other written mediums for The Indigenous Foundation. These can cover a range of topics relating to past/present Indigenous-related issues, educational content, personal experiences, and more. If you are passionate about writing and shedding light on Indigenous rights, we highly encourage you to apply to our columnist team! This is a flexible position, and depending on your time commitment, you can write on a certain basis (eg: weekly, monthly, every two months, etc). As a Journalist, you will be responsible for researching, writing, and publishing timely news articles, Instagram posts, and other media content for TIF. Journalists cover current events, breaking news, community developments, and issues affecting Indigenous communities and peoples. This role requires staying informed on local, national, and global events and being prepared to write accurate, engaging, and up-to-date content on short notice when important stories emerge. If you are passionate about journalism, storytelling, current affairs, and informing others through impactful writing, we highly encourage you to apply to our Journalist team. This is a flexible position, and depending on your availability, contributions can be made on a weekly, biweekly, monthly, or as-needed basis.

The projects role is for those who are passionate about participating in new and innovative projects, initiatives and more. As a part of the projects team at TIF you will be working alongside fellow project members of TIF to launch new events, campaigns, projects, fundraisers, and other causes where we can make an impact. Some current projects we are working on include TIF's Book Club, Speaker Series, and Photobook showcasing the beauty of Indigenous art. We are looking for individuals who are interested in co-hosting episodes of TIF's podcast, Unrooted. The podcast role at TIF entails working with a co-host to curate and record podcast episodes that can focus on a variety of topics relating to Indigenous issues, including personal experiences, interviews with Indigenous advocates, educational episodes, and more! As part of the social media team at TIF, you will be working alongside our social media manager, Anna, in order to post social media content scheduled for certain days. You will also be working on replying to social media messages and emails that TIF receives, along with posting articles as scheduled. However, your main role will be to engage with our audience through Instagram reels and build our platform on Tiktok.

As a graphic designer for TIF’s collective, you will be formatting and designing some of TIF’s infographic-style posts. You must be well equipped with Canva, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, or any other related application. It is recommended you have some kind of experience in graphic design, whether it be a degree, a course you are currently taking, or an organization you may design posts/graphics for.
