Alessia Di Paolo

Alessia (she/her) is a settler of Italian descent living in Ottawa, which is located on the unceded traditional territory of the Algonquin Anishinaabe peoples. She is the proud owner of a degree in Indigenous Studies from Carleton University and is currently attending Nippissing Univeristy for her Bachelors of Education; with hopes to work on a nearby reserve as a teacher. Alessia is a part of the columnist team for TIF and will be writing about Indigenous assertion of sovereignty and resistance to on-going settler colonialism. In addition to writing, Alessia enjoys creating art, playing piano and guitar and reading. She is beyond excited to work with TIF and to continue bringing awareness to Indigenous issues.
